Location: Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, Austin 78753
Event Notes: Uprooted 400 to 500 glossy ligustrum saplings and small trees in a one-acre grove. Shredded thosr into mulch. Used mulch to smother ligustrum sprouts in a thousand-square-foot area. Girdled about 25-30 ligustrums that were too large to uproot. Area is essentially ligustrum-free, although it will need frequent follow-up to deplete the seedbank and introduce native plants. Also uprooted 5 Chinese pistache saplings, 10–12 feet tall.
